McLean Youth Volleyball MYV provides house, select and travel volleyball programs for Elementary School, Middle School, and High School athletes in the greater McLean Virginia VA area including Great Falls, Falls Church, Arlington, Vienna, Fairfax, Reston
Due to a lack of other teams to compete against, HS travel is cancelled for the Spring 2023 season -- Girls officially registered were sent an email with alternative options
High School students have an opportunity to play competitive volleyball on MYA Volleyball's HS TRAVEL team. The program is ideal for athletes with HS playing experience looking to keep their skills fresh prior to high school team tryouts in August. The HS Travel team plays in an established Northern Virginia Travel Volleyball League with participants from other youth volleyball programs in Fairfax County, including some club teams.
Active club players are not eligible to play HS Travel -- this ensures that as many other girls as possible can have a similar competitive volleyball experience. Club players are always welcome to coach a team and join the referee program.

You do not need to be registered for the Spring 2023 season prior to the tryout.
Many HS Travel candidates use the competitive HS Select Leagueas a fallback if not offered a roster position on the HS Travel team after the tryout. If already registered for the Spring 2023 season, you are encouraged to attend the separate HS Select tryout on Tuesday, March 7 @7:00pm-8:30pm at the McLean HS Main/Lower Gym #2. The tryout will be used to fill openings on both self-formed and league-formed HS Select teams.
Format
The HS Travel team is formed after an open tryout. The team is composed of about 12 players. 45 girls attend the 2022 tryout.
Players do not have to live in McLean to join
Practices are held twice a week for 90-minutes in McLean-area gyms
Matches are typically played once a week on Wednesdays starting in early April (90 minutes; 5 games). Some matches may be played in Rockville MD.
